McMansionland Traverse

Distance: 16 miles | Climbing: 1,080 feet |
Gravel: 4.7 miles | Singletrack: 0 miles |
Relevant: Loudoun County | Silver Line | Spring Hill Station | Virginia |

This is a short and rewarding jaunt from the Spring Hill Metro Station, taking advantage of the new (2024) sidepath trails along Route 7. A couple of miles of profoundly uninspiring sidepath, a few miles of some truly wild real estate, and you’re in the Virginia Great Falls National Park on a sublime gravel carriage road. Plenty of places to stop and have lunch, plus there’s a boat rental at the turnaround point, if you want to make a day of it.
